About the Gala Banquet on August 8th 2018
Tickets for the banquet must be purchased in advance through the links provided on this site.
Tickets are $125 per person. This price incorporates some table wine and gifts, excess revenue will go directly to the Legacy Fund.
Once notification of ticket purchase is received, guests will be contacted by e-mail with information on how to stay updated on the event, how to get there, what name should appear on the name badge etc.
The banquet will be held in #14 Hangar at 19 Wing Comox, the home of 442 Squadron. Our guest of honor will be Wing Commander Stocky Edwards, a WWII veteran. You can see his bio elsewhere on this site. The Y2K Spitfire aircraft will be in the hangar for viewing, as will a Vampire aircraft which is another aircraft that Stocky flew.
Guests will be seated at round tables for eight, in patterns that will allow for ease of movement and visibility. Guests will be able to select their tables and seats in advance through this site as we get closer to the date.
Guests will arrive at the main gate of 19 Wing and be directed to the WO & Sgts Mess for parking and reception, where name badges will be issued. Guests will then be escorted over to 14 Hangar for the event. Shuttle transport will be available. Gates will be open for arrival at 1600 Hrs (4PM). Meet and Greet in the Hanger will be from 1700 Hrs until 1815 Hrs.
Buffet style dinner service will begin at 1830 (6:30PM). Head tables only will receive table service. There will be two active buffet lines to ensure all are served expeditiously. Coffee/Tea and desserts will be openly available.
Two bottles of premium wine will be on each guest table at the start of dinner. Wine, Beer, Spirits and soft drinks will be available at the Bars. These will be sold using tickets purchased at the event.
Dress code for the evening will be smart casual. Those individuals who have been awarded military honours are encouraged to wear them.
A shuttle service to and from the event can be organized for individuals requesting it, but it must be coordinated at least a week in advance through the contact us form. A shuttle will also be available for individuals who decide not to drive home after the event.
